In the city of Yuhzny in the Odessa district, the development of the southern port is constantly changing. The port is located northwest of the Adalyk Bay in the Black Sea.
Thanks to its advantageous geographical location, the port quickly became an important trading hub in Ukraine and is currently the youngest port in the country.
Its main traded goods include coal, ore, and chemical products. Nowadays, the throughput of South Port ranks second in Ukraine, with over 20 billion tons of goods exchanged annually.

The first PLC control system application in the southern port of Ukraine began in 2001. Laoderom is responsible for the research and development, procurement, installation,
and technical debugging of the system. PROM.SOFT company is mainly responsible for the research and development of application software. Two companies are collaborating to
develop process control systems for fuel boiler stations. The three sets of diesel engines and other boiler equipment that produce 10-15 tons of steam per hour are
also fully controlled by B&R”s PCC and four PCs. In practical applications, Beijiale”s PCC achieves seamless connection with third-party vendor systems through
various accompanying communication modules. Successful communication mainly relies on the application software based on frame driver library provided by

Over the years, the normal operation of the central boiler station has witnessed the reliability and effectiveness of the B&R system. By 2005, the user decided to
modernize the control system of the port cargo loading and unloading area. Based on the successful cooperation of historical projects, they once again chose
B&R Industrial Automation Company as their automation solution provider. This plan mainly focuses on centralized control of port cargo loading and unloading areas
. The port cargo loading and unloading area includes two dump trucks, a stacker crane, and a transportation system with corridors and platforms, forming a high-tech
integrated system. It is also equipped with an anti icing device, sorting device, mobile crane, and other loading equipment. This integrated system controls the transportation
of various materials such as coal, ore, and cast iron.

During the development phase of the process control system, identify the five major models used in the cargo loading and unloading process:

Car Dumper No.1: Warehouse with vibrator and door, feeder, loading and handling equipment, mobile handling, safety magnet, inlet and outlet ventilation, slurry pool and slurry pump.

Each region is equipped with over 10 local connections to the B&R PCC system, various I/O modules, and B&R Power Panel operator stations.
The central dispatch room is equipped with a central PCC system, a 19 inch PC, and a 42 inch plasma display. The topology structure connecting the local PCC and the central PCC is
star shaped. The length range of network branches is 300-1300 meters, and the PCC of the central station is connected to the PC through the RS 232 interface.

All production data is collected through PCC and transmitted to the central PCC before being sent to PC. Then, they are displayed separately in different branches.

The central PCC system is responsible for starting, stopping, protecting, and scheduling load routes. The local PCC system sequentially controls each production line area.
The operator station can monitor and control all local equipment and cargo loading and unloading.

The PC runs SUSE LINUX 10.0 and STAR SCADA systems, developed by PROM.SOFT company.
